Ford enters the E-Bike market for its stunning concept

The growing concern of people about the state of the environment, the possible effects of global warming, forcing manufacturers will think about the environmentally friendly vehicles, which causes the competition in the electric bike market, which is growing every day.

September 19 this year, Ford has demonstrated his concept of the E-Bike at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which is positioned as the future of their offspring in the market E-Bike. Ford's innovative concept is not presented as a commercial product, but given the fact that many of its competitors Ford has long been working in this market, production is likely to wait long. "E-Bike market is growing rapidly around the world last year, has sold nearly 30 million units," said Director of Customer Service Ford in Europe, Axel Wilke (Axel Wilke). "We have seen electric bikes as an important element of city vehicles. More and more people are using e-bikes for short commuter trips."

Developed by Ford's design team, headed by the executive director of design Martin Smith (Martin Smith), in partnership with the cyber-Wear, Ford E-Bike concept was created so that he came to ride, both men and women. The basis of design of trapezoidal profile frame made of aluminum and carbon fiber, very strong and yet lightweight - weighing only 2.27 kg. Wheel with six V-shaped spokes create a clean, minimalist look.
Located in the front wheel hub motor and a fully charged lithium-ion battery that is hidden in the frame, together with built-in sensor technology and patented magneto overcome the distance to 85 km.

Magneotostrictive materials are used to convert magnetic energy into kinetic energy and vice versa. In Formule1, these sensors to help withstand the high engine speed in conjunction with an intense thermal loads. They do not need physical contact with other parts of the engine, do not depend on temperature and is completely maintenance free.

Ford first used this technology in the bicycle industry, the sensors monitor the collection of loads and efforts in the kinematic scheme of E-Bike and transmit this information to the control unit within a hundredth of a second. The control unit instantly activate or deactivate the electric motor, which provides seamless integration of leg strength to force the engine.

The display, located on the steering wheel allows the rider information and allows you to select one of three modes of support - Economy, Comfort and Sport. The drive system is complemented by 11-speed planetary gear system from Shimano. Instead of the traditional circuit uses a carbon fiber belt, that according to Ford engineers, less susceptible to pollution, easier and more effectively transfers the power of pedaling.
